The Technology
Novophage’s core inventions are protected by a comprehensive series of
patent‐pending technologies. We have demonstrated 30,000x increases in
the in vitro bactericidal activity of antibiotics when combined with
our engineered bacteriophages against free‐floating bacteria,
antibiotic‐resistant bacteria, antibiotic‐tolerant persisters and
difficult‐to-eradicate biofilm cells. We have also proven that our
bacteriophages can reduce the evolution of antibiotic resistance by at
least 500x. In an industry‐standard mouse model of septic infection
with Escherichia coli, our product increased the survival of infected
mice from 20% to 80% when used in conjunction with traditional
antibiotic therapy.
